The MS 462 C-M forestry chainsaw is the lightest high-performance saw in its class. With impressive acceleration, you can rely on this forestry chainsaw to deliver the results you need when felling and pruning medium to large trees. The economical STIHL 2-MIX engine, coupled with M-Tronic technology, delivers an efficient performance without compromising on the power you need in a forestry chainsaw.. The MS 462 C-M has a STIHL anti-vibration system so you can comfortably use the saw for extended periods of time. In addition, the new design means that it is easier to manoeuvre and, with less gyroscopic force on acceleration, it is also easier to stay in full control of the saw at all times. For everyday maintenance, the long-life HD2 filter features an oil and water repellent surface and can be easily cleaned, whilst the captive nuts on the sprocket cover make it easier for regular bar and chain maintenance.

STIHL 2-MIX REDUCED-EMISSION ENGINE TECHNOLOGY

2-stroke engine with stratified charge. A fuel-free layer of air is created between
the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase,
reducing the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle. This results in more power
with a lower weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption than regular 2-stroke engines
and significantly reduced exhaust emissions.

Ematic™ Lubrication System

The Ematic™ guide bar, when used with STIHL OILOMATIC® saw chain, will provide proper lubrication and less oil consumption than conventional methods. The system works because two ramps, strategically placed in the guide bar rail, help contain the flow of oil and direct all lubrication to the sliding faces of the bar and chain links as well as the rivets and driver holes, which in turn can reduce bar oil consumption up to 50%.

HD2 FILTER

The newly developed HD2 filter is made from polyethylene filter material with up to 70% finer pores than fleece and polyamide filters to trap even very fine dust. In addition, it is oil and water-repellent and thus very easy to clean. The PET-covered round filter cartridge with quick-release lock enables the filter to be assembled and disassembled in next to no time, without using tools

STIHL ELASTOSTART

STIHL ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by the compression of the engine
during starting. The compression shock is taken away from the user's joints and
muscles through a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.

Compensator

The STIHL compensator, a control system in the carburettor, ensures
that despite increasing pollution of the air filter engine performance, exhaust
quality and fuel consumption over a long period remain almost constant.
Only when a noticeable performance degradation occurs,
the air filter must be cleaned. So, very long working

DECOMPRESSION VALVE

Decompression valve
The decompression valve is part of the easy starting system. The valve should be pressed before starting to reduce the compression pressure when starting, as well as the effort needed to pull the starter rope. The decompression valve is semi-automatic; it must be pressed manually before starting, but then closes automatically.

Side-Access Chain Tensioner
